Closed Terrarium
Closed Terrariums are a self contained bio-active ecosystem. In this workshop you will learn layering techniques, ideal soil, plant choices and caring for this type of terraium.

Dome Terrariums
Dome terrariums are a vertical build using clay to create an artistic structural piece to place under a glass dome or cloche. This is a great foundation workshop for basics in building up walls whether it is on glass, rock or foam for future projects.

Carnivorous Terrariums
Carnivorous plants have completely different needs to most house plants , but if you know the rules and follow them you can have a beautiful successful carnivorous terrarium.

Open Terrarium
An open terrarium is suited to different conditions depending on your level of commitment to care. The easiest is a succulent or cacti terrarium which can be stunning statement pieces with minimal maintenance.

Wabi Kusa and water wick terrariums
Wabi Kusa is a Japanese art form of using moss and plants to create living miniature gardens. Usually in ball shapes or dishes and incorporating water elements. Water wick terrariums are a variations on this method and is a suspended planted body within a glass vessel.

Kokedama
Kokedama ,also known as poor mans bonsai, is a technique developed in Asia when bonsai pots were expensive and they were training a bonsai. The tree would be shaped and then this wrapping technique using twine was used to hold the root ball in place for 6 to 12 months until its next shaping. Once it reached the correct maturity and size the they would purchase the bonsai pot it would remain in.

Terracotta tower
This worshop explores the technique of planting externally on porous planters. Terracotta is one of the best mediums to use, we attach our moss with a clay and the our plants which will eventually adhere to the walls of the planter. A stunning piece that will need a humid environment to thrive.

Succulent Planter
A stunning display of colourful succulents artfully arranged in planters. A beautiful statement for any patio or verandah with low maintenance required.

Group sessions
We are happy to book private large group sessions for 8 or more people so you can have the workshop to yourself.

Living Wreath
Our living wreaths are a beautiful way to display air plants, bromeliads and other epiphytes. Stunning on a shaded patio or verandah, and even indoors, needing only the occasional spray of water as maintenance.

Adult Mini workshop
After using miniatures in a lot of our terrariums and developing a workshop for kids, the adults are now getting in on the fun. You can now create a mini scene under a dome, in a shadow box frame or in a book box perfect for a bookcase or display shelf. we can even add lights to make it magical. The only limit is your imagination.
